Face Off is a grid game with tumbling wins

Pick Face Off if you want a horror-themed slot where wins come from the grid itself. The 6x5 grid has no paylines or ways. Matching symbols count wherever they sit on screen, and you need at least 8 of one symbol to win. After each win, the winning symbols vanish, the rest drop down, and new symbols fill the gaps. The cascade repeats until no new win shows, and the wins are added together.

Choose Face Off if you want a bonus round built on multipliers. Four, five or six skull Scatters anywhere on screen start 10, 20 or 30 Free Spins. Multiplier symbols, x2 to x100, stay on the grid through the cascade and multiply the spin's total. Scatters landing during a round add 5 spins each, with no stated cap. Scatters no longer pay directly.

Four ways in

Base game first, then the tombstone multipliers

Compared like a local does: what each round costs, what it pays, and what you can skip.

Chasing 6 skulls

Scatter skulls do the hiring: 4 anywhere on the grid pay 10 spins, 5 give 20, 6 give 30. Extra Scatters only extend the round, adding 5 spins each time, and the tombstone multipliers from x2 to x100 sit on screen for the whole Refill sequence before they multiply that spin's total.

One flat 100x price

A single 100x price skips the scatter hunt and drops you straight into the bonus round, with no selector for how many Scatters you would rather see. The toggle greys out while a round or the chance modifier is running, so close one before opening the next.

Why is my bet higher?

Flip this on and Total Bet climbs by 25%, so your A$5 stake becomes A$6.25 for as long as it stays on. It is a steady setting rather than a one-off charge, and despite the name it does not double your bet. Pick it or the buy, never both.

Count wins, no lines

Spins run on 30 cells where nothing needs a line: a symbol pays on total count alone, at 8-9, 10-11 or 12 and up. Winners clear, the rest fall, empty cells refill and new wins are added to the same spin until nothing pays.

Price tags on the extras

Before you buy a bonus, check the price: it is 100 times the total bet, so at A$5 it costs A$500.

Play sequence

Face Off, from first click to last spin

Not knowing what each spin costs, or what happens after a win, is the usual worry.

  1. Face Off bets from A$0.20

Set the total bet anywhere from A$0.20 up to A$17 before the first spin. That amount is staked on each spin, so a higher bet also raises the top win.

  2. Before the drop, after the refill

Look for eight or more identical symbols anywhere on the grid. Winning symbols vanish, the rest drop down, and empty cells refill, so each new win adds to one spin total.

  3. Base game tumble and refill

Read the features first: Scatter Pays lets symbols win anywhere, and Tumble refills the grid after each win. The Multiplier only appears in free spins, so base game wins carry none.

  4. How many free spins arrive?

Land four, five or six Scatters anywhere to start 10, 20 or 30 free spins. Three or more Scatters during the round add five spins, and Buy Bonus skips straight in.

  5. High volatility balance swings

Decide your spending limit before the first spin and stop when it is reached. Face Off is high volatility, so the balance can swing a lot in either direction.

Start playing

Before the first spin, nothing is decided

Choosing a bet size and a session length is your decision, but how often the bonus round arrives is not known in advance. Nothing in the 6x5 grid tells you when the next Scatter symbols will land. The RTP describes the return over a very large number of spins, so the result of one session is random whatever the RTP is.

Checking the RTP version before you play is your call, and the version running here is shown only in the game rules. The three versions in the table differ by a few hundredths of a percent, so the choice changes the long-run return only slightly.

Planning your bankroll around the maximum win is a mistake, because the ceiling of Face Off is reached very rarely and cannot be predicted for any session. The maximum win is a ceiling, not a target, and the figures in the table show what it means in money at each bet.

Losses you can afford

Set a budget before you open Face Off and treat it as money you can afford to lose. Stop when the budget runs out, whatever the screen shows.

Same stop, win or lose

Decide when you stop before the first spin, and keep that point after a win too. A win can make the next stake feel safer than it is.

Know what you bet on

Free spins and returns, explained without the hype

You will know how Face Off plays, pays and what its RTP means before you bet.

How volatile is Face Off, and what is the max win?

Pick Face Off only if you accept high volatility. Wins come less often than on low-volatility games, and they can be large. The maximum win is x15,000 the bet, which is A$75,000 at A$5, one of the example bets on this page.

Can I try Face Off in demo mode before real bets?

Decide how much to test with before the first real spin. Face Off's paytable is set for A$1, and the minimum bet is A$0.20. Each mode's rules are set out on this page, so read them before you bet.

How do I trigger the free spins in Face Off?

Land four, five or six Scatter skulls anywhere on screen to start the free spins. Four Scatters give 10 spins, five give 20 and six give 30. During the round, three or more Scatters add five more spins.

What RTP versions does Face Off have, and what do they mean?

Compare the RTP versions in the table before you play. RTP is a long-run average over many spins, so one session can land well above or below it. Face Off's three versions sit within a fraction of a percentage point of each other.
